2013 Little King & Queen Contest
By First Princess, Eileen Kwan
Los Angeles, CA - On Saturday, December 1st a rambunctious and excited group of children bustled into the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association office for the annual Little King and Queen Contest. The children were teeming with excitement and ready to strut their stuff on stage as their proud parents and grandparents cheered them on from the audience.
The Miss Los Angeles Chinatown court was honored to host the event and guide the children through the two segments of the program. The first segment showcased the contestants introducing themselves to the judges. Several boys and girls owned the stage with verve and charisma while others presented a more dignified and sweet side to their personalities. One thing all contestants shared was a great attitude! The second segment gave participants the opportunity to share a more personal side of themselves. Each con-testant was asked to pick a lollipop from a basket with a question attached to it. The audience listened eagerly as contestants gabbed about their favorite pets and foods while grinning back to their loved ones. One contestant even gave a rousing rendition of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” that had audience members on their feet! At the close of the program, the winners were announced. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce Los Angeles would like to congratulate Little King Austin Eng, Little Queen Chloe Weinberg, Little Prince Nicholas Dylan Fong, and Little Princess Julie Liu. All the children participated in a lovely and heart-warming Christmas song performance as the grand finale. CCCLA applauds all participants for being so outstanding on stage and for being such great sports!

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce is truly grateful to all judges and sponsors for lending their time and generosity to the event.
