2016 Queen and Miss Photogenic, Li Qu
Li Qu was born in China, raised in Singapore and currently lives in Los Angeles, California. Li is passionate about the art, music, film and entertainment industry despite her endeavors in business. One of her favorite quotes is: “the purpose of life…is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” Therefore, she enjoys using the arts as a medium to bring love, joy and share meaningful messages to those around her.
One of her greatest joy was serving as an art teacher to autistic children and organizing music workshops for elementary school children. An adventurous spirit, she also enjoyed traveling — but traveling with a purpose. For instance, she taught art and english to children in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Monte Cristi in the Dominican Republic and Guatemala.
Li graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University with a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society and served as the president of Global China Connection at Vanderbilt. She worked for Nissan (at Nissan North America Inc.) and BMW after graduation. She plans to return to school for another degree and attends classes at UCLA.
